JFK: Myth vs. Reality Monika Wiesak I am writing this as someone who, through studying John F. Kennedy’s presidency, has developed a great degree of respect for him. In my first book America’s Last President: What the World Lost When It Lost John F. Kennedy, which focused on his presidency, I included many of his direct quotes because I believed it was important to let him speak for himself rather than have me speak on his behalf. I have done the same with my X account (https://x.com/MonikaWiesak), regularly posting clips of JFK speaking, whether it be in press conferences, formal or informal speeches, phone conversations, or meetings. In my book on his assassination , Echoes of a Lost America: Unraveling the Murder of JFK , I chose not to argue any thesis regarding the crime because I wanted to explore the evidence without bias or preconceptions.
