But Will Elections Change Anything?

( Of course it does! ) But Will Elections Change Anything? BY  JEFFREY A. TUCKER      OCTOBER 20, 2022 I t’s coming up in a fortnight. For many people, all their hopes rest on the outcome. I get it because these seem like very dark times. We cannot live without hope. But we also need realism. The problems are deep, pervasive, scandalously entrenched. Many people won financially and in terms of power from lockdowns and have no intention either to apologize or give up their gains. What’s more, for that to have happened to this great country – and many great counties – indicates something far more pernicious than a policy error or an ideological mistake.  The fix is going to require vast change. Tragically, the elected politicians may be the least likely to push for such a change. This is due to what we call the “Deep State” but there ought to be another name. It is rather obvious now that we are dealing with a beast that includes media, technology, nonprofits, and multinational and inter

Races, Tribes, Nations

Races, Tribes, Nations Divide and rule Carlos Ramalhete Photo ©  Brian Snelson Once I wrote that no self-respecting “race” could ever accept me. After all, I am Brazilian — the mongrel of mongrels. But what is a race? Moreover, what is a tribe? A nation? These questions are quite important these days, as the American construct of race is being forced down the throats of every other country, even if it cannot be applied to the local situation. Down here in Brazil, for instance, while people do have ancestors from all over the world, the American concept of “race” makes no sense at all. Brazilians see themselves as a nation, and neither tribes nor races can exist within this national identity. The same goes for other countries; in France, for instance, it is simply forbidden to divide people into  races . But, as I asked in the beginning, what does  race  mean? The  Wikipedia definition  is that a “ race  is a categorization of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into gro

The Zoom Class Gets Covid

The Zoom Class Gets Covid BY  JEFFREY A. TUCKER      For nearly two years, we’ve wondered how this will end. In retrospect, the clue is in how it began.  The initial lockdowns had a strong class-based component. The working classes were assigned the job of delivering groceries, tending to the sick, driving the trucks filled with goods, keeping the lights on, and keeping the fuel running. The professional class, among whom were the people who pushed lockdowns in the name of disease avoidance/suppression, were assigned the job of staying home in their pajamas and staying safe.  It all happened seemingly in an instant. We all had to figure out whether our job qualified and what we should do. More striking at the time was the very notion that government bureaucrats could slice and dice the population this way, deciding what can open and what cannot, who must work and who must not, what we can and cannot do based on our station in life.  So it now seems obvious to me. This whole disaster wo

Reaping the whirlwind

Reaping the whirlwind Italy and the "Super Green Pass" MyBodyThisPaperThisFire “For they hath sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind .”  (Hosea 8:7) As of 6 December,  reports  Italian newspaper  Il Giornale , Italy is rolling out its so-called “Super Green Pass,” barring the unvaccinated from a variety of events and amenities, even in the presence of a negative COVID test. The untermensch – as the documentation just about manages to refrain from describing those whom it excludes – will thus no longer be able to eat indoors at restaurants, attend sporting events, concerts, theatres, and many other public events, regardless of whether or not they’ve tested negative for COVID-19. It goes without saying that this won’t end well for the people of Italy. I do wonder, though, how the Italian authorities could ever have convinced themselves that it was likely to end well for them either. It wasn’t so long ago that their celebrated countryman, the Marxist political philosop
