Striking Slaves Will Only Harm Their Own Slavery

The original title of the article is: "Striking Autoworkers Will Only Harm Their Own Livelihoods" On Friday, September 15, 12,700 members of the United Auto Workers union (UAW)   walked off   the job at plants owned by the “Big Three” automakers—Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis (which owns Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram). The walkout marked the beginning of a series of   long-expected   targeted strikes aiming to give the UAW leverage as it renegotiates contracts with the three companies. Senate Approves Legislation To Avoid Rail Strike By Zachary Stieber of the  Epoch Times The U.S. Senate on Dec. 1 approved legislation aimed at heading off a nationwide rail strike, a day after the House passed the measure. Senators  voted 80–15  to pass the bill, which would impose a tentative agreement on rail workers and prohibit a potentially costly strike. Congress is allowed to take such action under the Railway Labor Act; it last took action to prevent a shutdown in 1994. President Joe Biden has said he will sign the bill. A dozen unions representing more than 100,000 workers hammered out the agreement in the fall, but four of the unions later voted against ratifying it. Workers had been preparing to strike on Dec. 9 absent the legislation or a new deal being reached. Operators have warned that lost economic output resulting from a shutdown could reach or even eclipse $2 billion a day, while business groups have said a strike would disrupt the transp...

Brett Wilkins , August 20, 2021 Employees at Nabisco's flagship plant in Chicago walked off the job Thursday, joining workers at three of the leading snack maker's other U.S. plants who are demanding better working conditions, an end to foreign outsourcing, and the withdrawal of a company plan that would scrap the company's current guaranteed overtime pay system. "They don't care about frontline workers. They only care about the almighty dollar. We're tired of getting stepped on and treated like trash. We've had enough." —Rusty Lewis, Nabisco worker The strike began August 10 when around 200 members of the Bake...
