Nearly anything, even self-denigrating expressions of racial admiration, may be judged beyond the pale. Last week, a political candidate for the Ontario NDP (the New Democratic Party—Canada’s Gucci socialists) was forced to resign just prior to the Ontario provincial election because of comments she had previously made about black women, comments that the leader of the party, also a white woman, said were “deeply concerning.” What exactly was concerning about the comments the candidate had made?
