Mutant Wolves of Chernobyl Develop Apparent Cancer Immunity

Mutant Wolves of Chernobyl Develop Apparent Cancer Immunity BEN BARTEE Via  New York Post : “ Mutant wolves that roam the human-free Chernobyl Exclusion Zone have developed cancer-resilient genomes  that could be key to helping humans fight the deadly disease, according to a study… Humans abandoned the area after the explosion leaked cancer-causing radiation into the environment, and a 1,000-square-mile zone was roped off to prevent further human exposure. But in the nearly 38 years since the nuclear disaster, wildlife has reclaimed the area — including  packs of wolves  that  seem to be unaffected by the chronic exposure to the radiation .” Via  The Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology “Love and colleagues went to the CEZ, radio-collared wolves, and took blood to understand the wolves’ responses to cancer-causing radiation. Using these specialty GPS collars armed with radiation dosimeters, “we get real time measurements of where they are and how much [radiation] they are e

Micro- and Nanoplastics Linked to Parkinson’s and Dementia Experts say the new findings add to evidence linking plastics pollution to disease, urge political action to reduce environmental toxins. ***** After 61 years I can still hear the Birds during Spring! *****   That plastic water bottle you regularly drink from could one day decompose into tiny particles that wreak havoc in your brain. New research shows that nanoplastics—microscopic particles broken down from everyday plastic items—bind to proteins associated with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia. These stealthy nanoparticles have already infiltrated our soil, water, and food supply. Now, they may pose the next great toxin threat, fueling a wave of neurodegenerative disease. Plastic Cups, Utensils Identified as Risk Factors Polystyrene nanoparticles, commonly found in plastic cups and utensils, bind to alpha-synuclein, a protein linked to Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia, the new study from Duke

Did Norfolk Southern neglect safety protocols in pursuit of DEI and ESG initiatives?

Did Norfolk Southern neglect safety protocols in pursuit of DEI and ESG initiatives? NTSB report seems to pin blame on Norfolk train car. Jordan Schachtel On February 3rd, dozens of Norfolk Southern train cars derailed while traveling through East Palestine, Ohio, with 11 of those cars carrying ultra hazardous chemical agents. Some three days later, those chemicals were burned off into the air, after officials expressed concerns that the materials could explode and ignite an even greater catastrophe. Could all of this have been avoided? On Thursday, the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) determined in a preliminary report that an overheated wheel bearing on a Norfolk Southern train car could be responsible for the derailment that occurred. The  report  listed multiple operational concerns, adding that “surveillance video … showed what appeared to be a wheel bearing in the final stage of overheat failure moments before the derailment.” This seems to indicate that this was a dis
