  Shock Retraction of Climate Science Paper Showing No Climate Emergency Draws Comparisons with Climategate Scandal BY   CHRIS MORRISON Shocking details of corruption and suppression in the world of peer-reviewed climate science have come to light with a recent leak of emails. They show how a determined group of activist scientists and journalists combined to secure the retraction of a paper that said a climate emergency was not supported by the available data. Science writer and economist Dr. Roger Pielke Jr. has  published the startling emails  and concludes: “Shenanigans continue in climate science, with influential scientists teaming up with journalists to corrupt peer review.” The offending paper was published in January 2022 in a  Springer Nature  journal and at first attracted little attention. Climate Lunacy Enthroned HANS VOGEL All state and corporate media in the EU have been yelling and shouting about the hot weather in Europe. It is infernal, they say. Never been so hot, they want us to believe. UN Secretary General Guterres is telling the world the “Age of Global Boiling has arrived.” Thus lectures a man who has long been associated with notorious  pedophiles  and under whose auspices as Portuguese PM (1995-2002) the sexual abuse of minors in the so-called  Casa Pia  homes was taking place. On the weather maps shown in the media, the areas with temperatures above 35 degrees centigrade are colored blood red. Only a few years ago, those same temperatures would be indicated by shades of green, or at most yellow. No mention is made of snow falling in the Alps at altitudes above 1,800 meters (a rarity in summer). At least two justices wrote dissents, and a number of physicians online commented on the ruling. If you are interested in a full legal analysis, look elsewhere. This post is about what interests me. In discussing the ruling, both a Supreme court justice and a team of physician scientists cite specific research that claims Black doctors lower the risk of death among Black patients/ people. That research is not only flawed, but, given observed effect sizes, has to be wrong. My post is not on affirmative action— but something broader.
