"Second Attempt to Test the Air Force’s First Hypersonic Weapon Fails" by Joseph Trevithick

Second Attempt to Test the Air Force’s First Hypersonic Weapon Fails The Russians have had one for years...without a trillion-dollar defense/pork sector Joseph Trevithick Editor’s note: Having gone for the much more complicated (and much more lucrative) hypersonic boost-glide vehicle — instead of a more straightforward air-launched ballistic missile — means the US, unlike Russia with its Kinzhal , still doesn’t have an air-launched hypersonic weapon. That said, Russia is also ahead in hypersonic boost-glide weapons, and is already fielding a handful of ground-launched Avangard hypersonic glide vehicles operationally. A second attempt to carry out a flight test of a prototype of the U.S. Air Force’s AGM-183A  Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon  hypersonic missile, or ARRW, has failed. The weapon separated safely from the  B-52H bomber  carrying it, but the rocket motor did not ignite. This

New Normal Newspeak #3: “Progressive”

New Normal Newspeak #3: “Progressive” “New Normal Newspeak” is a series of short articles highlighting how our language has come under assault in the past eighteen months. * We have a backlog for these NNNS posts, but I saw this today on Twitter, and it made me laugh so it gets to jump the queue. A few days ago, Saudi Arabia announced they would be introducing vaccine passes for, essentially, anyone that wanted to do anything . And then Max Boot, the neo-liberal warmonger who’s paid to squat over his keyboard and squeeze out columns for the Washington Post, called it “progressive”:       There it is in black and white – an absolute monarchy that still practices public beheadings, has no religious freedom, democracy or equal rights, has decided to add to their delightful resume by introducing digital surveillance, enforced experimental vaccination and medical apartheid. Doesn’t that sound so progressive ? The Council of Foreign Relations fellow has since deleted the tweet. A

"Nature’s Own Fuel Could Save Us From the Greenhouse Effect and Electric Grid Failure" by Ellen Brown

Nature’s Own Fuel Could Save Us From the Greenhouse Effect and Electric Grid Failure Posted on July 30, 2021 by Ellen Brown Hemp fuel and other biofuels could reduce carbon emissions while saving the electric grid, but they’re often overlooked for more expensive, high-tech climate solutions. On July 14, the European Union unveiled sweeping climate change and emissions targets that would,  according to Gulf News , mean “the end of the internal combustion engine”: The commission’s draft would reduce permitted emissions from new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles to zero from 2035 – effectively obliging the industry to move on to battery-electric models. While biofuels are a less high-tech, cheaper and in many ways more effective solution to our dependence on petroleum, the United States and other countries are discussing similar plans to the EU’s and California is already on board. But in a recent  article in the Los Ange

Twitter Suspends Science Writer After He Posts Results Of Pfizer Clinical Test

Twitter Suspends Science Writer After He Posts Results Of Pfizer Clinical Test Just yesterday, we  discussed  the censoring of a commentator by Twitter for merely expressing an opinion over the need for a “pause” on any federal mandates on Covid-19 as new research is studied. Now, a former New York Times science reporter, Alex Berenson, has been suspended for simply citing the results from a clinical trial by Pfizer and raising questions over any vaccine mandate. In the meantime, the White House accused both the Washington Post and New York Times of irresponsible reporting on Covid, but surprisingly Twitter has not suspended those accounts.  It is the license of the censor.  Twitter is unwilling to let people read or discuss viewpoints that it disagrees with as a corporation. Many on the left, however, have embraced the concept of  corporate speech and censorship . It turns out that the problem with censorship for many was the failure to censor views that they opposed. With the “right”
