Flattening the curve or flattening the global poor? How Covid lockdowns obliterate human rights and crush the most vulnerable

Stavroula Pabst and Max Blumenthal · December 3, 2021 In October 2021, it seemed as though the lockdowns that still paralyzed societies from Australia to New Zealand and Singapore were coming to an end, as these countries threw in the “Zero-COVID” towel following a year and a half of rolling restrictions and closures. But with COVID-19 cases rising in Europe, several countries are implementing lockdowns all over again, often with clearly punitive motivations.  This November, Austria’s government announced that police would enforce a lockdown exclusively against unvaccinated citizens . Following days of massive protests, the policy was extended to everyone, with steep fines and even prison sentences to be imposed on those who refuse to comply, and a compulsory vaccination requirement tacked on for good measure. Next door in Germany, where a new lockdown was announced this December for unvaccinated people , barring them from almost all public places except for pharmacies an...

The Post-Partisan Emporium's   Purpose and Standards   This site does not have a particular political position. We welcome articles from various points of view, and civil debate when differences arise. Contributions of articles from posters are always welcome. Unless a contribution is really beyond the pale, we do not edit what goes up as topics for discussion. If you would like to contribute an article, let one of the moderators know. Likewise if you would like to become an official contributor so you can put up articles yourself, but for that we need to exchange email addresses and we need a Google email address from you. Contributions can be anything, including fiction, poems, cartoons, or songs. They can be your own writing or someone else’s writing which has yet to be published. We understand that tempers flare during heated conversations, and we're willing to overlook the occasional name-calling in that situation, although we do not encourage it. We also understand t...

the last time tony fauci was pushing masks for disease mitigation

the last time tony fauci was pushing masks for disease mitigation he was making up his facts and scare mongering too el gato malo many of you are probably too young to remember the AIDS panic of the 80’s. but when it came out, the NIH, with tony fauci leading the charge, was getting literally everything wrong. they pushed a narrative of fear, vilified the infected, interfered with the development and adoption of effective treatments, and completely misrepresented spread and mitigation. it’s how we wound up with absolute garbage like this ad. it’s probably pretty jarring to see, but this is because you now have perspective. at the time, A LOT of people believed this. fear of getting AIDS from public toilet seats was a very real thing. fear of getting AIDS from casual contact or sharing dining or cooking facilities was a very real thing. people worried they might be sitting near a gay person on a bus. the “moral majority” of dingbat tele-evangelists thundered about it daily. and then, as...

The Mutant Virus Saved Us from Everything

The Mutant Virus Saved Us from Everything by ozarkmichael I havent heard anyone else say this yet, and so I offer my opinion to you all even though it is only a medically- informed hunch. We started with COVID 19, which seems to be a lab created, unnatural, relatively lethal virus, but now it has mutated toward something more natural. COVID 19 finally exchanged higher infectivity rates for less lethality. That means it spreads faster but doesnt kill you. Once infected with Omicron, we will have gained a natural immunity to COVID 19. Natural Immunity is the way to go, it lasts much longer than the mRNA jab. Omicron infections rapidly spreading all around the globe is just what we need, and just in time, too. History will note that there was more harm from the lockdowns, ie more damage to our culture and our lives together, than COVID-19 managed to do alone. Omicron could provide widespread immunity to everyone, jabbed and unjabbed alike, immediately breaking down this almost religious a...
