China Throws Clout Behind Palestine

China Throws Clout Behind Palestine Pepe Escobar   HONG KONG – The  Beijing Declaration , signed earlier this week, constitutes yet another stunning Chinese diplomatic coup, but the document goes far beyond affirming China’s pull. The  gathering  of representatives of 14 Palestinian factions to commit to full reconciliation showed the entire world that the road to solving intractable geopolitical problems is no longer unilateral: it is multipolar,  multi-nodal , and features BRICS/Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member China as an inescapable leader. The concept of China as a peacemaking superpower is now so established that after the Iran–Saudi Arabia rapprochement and the signing of the Beijing Declaration, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba chose to tell his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing that Kiev is now finally ready to negotiate the end of the NATO–Russia proxy war in Ukraine. Palestinians who came to Beijing were beaming. For Fatah Vice Chairman Mahmoud a

Hey, Elon: If You Want to Invest in Biotech, Learn Some Bio!

Hey, Elon: If You Want to Invest in Biotech, Learn Some Bio! The entire biotechnology endeavor needs to take a huge step back - show some humility, admit how little we know, and stop pushing out dangerous and deadly products. Debbie Lerman Illustration by  Anthony Freda In a recent article entitled “ Elon Musk’s Love Affair with mRNA ,” Substacker and journalist Robert Kogon noted that Elon Musk has invested in “mRNA technology” since before Covid, when Musk’s Tesla partnered with the German mRNA company CureVac to produce so-called “RNA printers”: an automated system for manufacturing mRNA and mRNA-based drugs. Musk enthusiastically tweeted about his investment, and his general belief in the medical potential of lab-made genetic products back in 2020 and again four years later: July 2, 2020 “ This [synthetic RNA and DNA] basically makes the solution to many diseases a software problem ”  May 8, 20204   “ Synthetic mRNA is basically digital medicine with incredible potentia l”  In be

The Vanishing Point

Image
The Vanishing Point Where improbably becomes impossible RADIO FAR SIDE Let’s perform a little thought experiment today. I apologize that this will involve some math. Believe me, I got a headache doing it, so bear with me as I regale you with my Quadrivium training (Reasoning with Numbers). Imagine a sphere with a radius of 150 yards, with the center point located on a roof (dangerously sloped of course). The sphere represents everything within the field of view of a shooter, and the radius is the distance of the target from the center point. Let’s convert that into a circumference (C) measured in feet (ft) (metric fans, you’re on your own): 1 yard=3 ft, so thus 150 yards=150×3=450 ft Now, C=2π×450, thus C=900π, with π≈3.14159 C≈900×3.14159=2827.43 ft At this point, we can project a 6-foot tall man onto the known circumference of our circle, at a distance of 450 ft. This becomes a simple ratio that is expressed in degrees of angular size relative to the circumference. This yields an a
