The Left’s New Child Activist and Media Darling? CNN Profiles 12-Year-Old Girl Who Wrote Letter to School Board Calling for Mask Mandate
CNN has given voice to a 12-year-old girl who has asked her local school board to institute a mask mandate.
Lila Hartley is a seventh-grader at Landon Middle School in Jacksonville, Florida. CNN interviewed her and ten-year-old brother Will, who says he double-masks at school because he’s not yet old enough to get vaccinated.
Their father Matt was also interviewed; he too supports a district-wide mask mandate, even though its implementation would violate Governor Ron DeSantis’ executive prohibition against them.
The segment aired on CNN’s flagship morning program “New Day.” It was part of a report on the Duval County School Board’s new requirement that parents complete “opt out procedures” before their children go maskless.
Mask mandates at school would provide “layers of protection, comfort, and security” for students like Lila Hartley, the report said.
The segment also aired two clips of Lila reading aloud her letter to the Duval County School Board, one at the beginning and one at the end. The beginning of her letter claims without evidence that the Delta variant of COVID-19 is “hospitalizing and killing so many kids."
Masks are important so we can continue to enjoy in-person school and not have to hurt families and staff with this terrible virus,” it concludes.
Watch:
Don’t you just love how unashamedly the left uses children to push their propaganda? Who wants to bet that this won’t be the last that we see of Lila Hartley?

Contributions of articles from posters are always welcome. Unless a contribution is really beyond the pale, we do not edit what goes up as topics for discussion. If you would like to contribute an article, let one of the moderators know. Contributions can be anything, including fiction, poems, cartoons, or songs. They can be your own writing or someone else’s writing which has yet to be published.
We understand that tempers flare during heated conversations, and we're willing to overlook the occasional name-calling in that situation, although we do not encourage it. We also understand that some people enjoy pushing buttons and that cussing them out may be an understandable response, although we do not encourage that either. What we will not tolerate is a pattern of harassment and/or lies about other posters.
