My Own Personal Matrix
So, um…does anyone else have a nagging feeling in the back of their mind that something big is about to drop? Not necessarily in the US, but that’s a highly likely target.
The way I figure it, since the early 20th century, humanity has been under attack by the Isms: fascism, socialism, communism, and the various religious Isms. They are all essentially the same thing, like different brands of mustard or something.
While most people tend to conceive of this mess in two dimensions—left and right, I look at it as a 3-D scatter graph, with various issues occupying an ideological cube, as seen in the illustration at the top. The Isms fall primarily on the -X side, or communal/collective.
Basically, in my worldview, the murderous insane “lefties” are -X/+Y/+Z. Someone like Charlie Kirk would fall on the +X/+Y/+Z spectrum. On an issue like uncontrolled immigration, do you think it’s an individual or collective problem? Do you feel strongly or weakly about it? Do you actively pursue the issue, or keep your thoughts to yourself? You can do this exercise with any issue to get a visual map of your opinions.
Anyway, back to the nagging feeling.
We have a lot of people who are off the scale in the -X/+Y/+Z spectrum. They are mindless autobots who can be directed by various triggers in the GeezerMedia or SocMed, The triggers are implanted by endless repetition through school, on- and off-line interactions, feedback loops (likes, follows, etc.), and other forms of psycho-manipulation.
And they seem to be getting triggered a lot lately.
These autobots are psychopathic. They have lost, or never developed, empathy and compassion. Their minds have been rewired to bypass innate filters and inhibitions. Many of them have spent thousands of hours being hammered with messaging in school, through video games, books (if any of them still read), and from their peers (or peer bots) online.
The messaging is so powerful that a great number of these Manchurian candidates don’t even know what sex or gender they are, and are incapable of an original thought. Everything in their heads was implanted by a highly focused and concerted effort.
And now the triggers are being pulled, literally and figuratively. Us normal folks would never see or hear it. We aren’t programmed that way (we have our own issues). It could be the Queen of Hearts playing card, a visual or spoken cue, a copy of “Catcher in the Rye”.
Someone might quote a line to a candidate in a chat room, and suddenly the kid is stashing a rifle in the bushes and playing look-out on the roof, while a murderer takes his shot from inside the building. When the police show up, the kid is trying to recover his rifle (that never got used), while all evidence points to him as the trigger man. Neat and tidy, and all it took was an installed mental button.
This kind of mental manipulation is occurring constantly from a multi-spectrum media environment. Specific images and audio on endless repeat, when we are both aware and unaware of the programming, slowly and subtly works its way into your opinion matrix. The purpose is to shift the Overton Window (center of my graph) makes your views more or less mainstream, even if you don’t actually change your opinions.
We have seen this effect this year. We started the year with the social messaging telling us if we believed illegal immigration was bad, we were radical alt right. Within a very short few months, that view has become more mainstream, while supporting it has become radically alt left.
Meantime, those on the “new” radical alt left are told they face an existential threats from the broader society, and the only solution is violence. They believe they can kill enough people to change the Zeitgeist.
In both cases, the left and the right are being manipulated. Both sides are told they are under mortal threat. Both sides are following their instincts to rally around leaders and become highly rigid and defensive. In other words, the two opponents are solidifying and going into threat mode, so that no outside information can penetrate to defuse and deescalate the growing paranoia. Ultimately, we are being pushed to pick a side and arm up for a physical and bloody fight.
A perfect example of how this works is the Jimmy Kimmel clown show. Oh sure, you thought he was getting cancelled for “accidentally” pissing on Charlie Kirk’s grave.
Au contraire.
Kimmel’s job was to stir the pot to distract the “left” from Kirk’s memorial and any in-depth discussion of his legacy. The entire “controversy” was staged to ossify the two opposing parties (left and right), and get the left dancing on Charlie’s grave, while the right gloated on Kimmel’s demise. If you found yourself on either side of this one, then you were played. What was even more absurd was listening the the very folks who have strangled free speech openly lamenting the lack of free speech.
If you take just a couple of big steps back from the whole mess, it is so crazy, so preposterous, so wingnutty that you just can’t help but double over in paroxysms of ridicule. In fact, that is the proper response to rob those bastids of their power. They completely crumble in the face of ridicule, both left and right.
So, back to my matrix. In reality, there are far more than two sides to any argument—some very subtle but others radically distanced. Anytime there’s a highly divisive issue stealing the news cycle, plot out the various sides in my scatter graph. You will likely end up with several ideological positions that defy a left-right paradigm. Ignore the fools trying to polarize you and control your opinion. Instead, see them for what they are—pathetic clowns who’ve sold their souls for the chance to schmooze with celebrities and move in rarified circles.
If you haven’t red Edward Bernay’s “Propaganda,” drop what you are doing and do it immediately. Once you realize what’s being done to you, why it works and how to counter it, you’ll be miles ahead of the competition. Be sure to pass the link to anyone you care about. Once you see the strings, you are no longer a puppet.

For today’s cultural learnings, let’s go straight for the jugular—The Manchurian Candidate (1962), directed by John Frankenheimer of Seven Days in May fame, and featuring Frank Sinatra’s best dramatic role. If you aren’t paranoid before you watch it, you will be after. Tip of the hat to Jamie Lee Curtis’ mother, too.
