COVID-19 Deep Dive Part VI: Technocracy

COVID-19 Deep Dive Part VI: Technocracy We are witnessing the subversion and replacement of the international rules-based order with a system utterly alien to democracy Spartacus Post-Marxism To understand the threat posed by technocracy, we must first go back to the very beginning. Thorstein Veblen was a late 19th century/early 20th century critic of capitalism who wrote several books on the topic. Though he developed a reputation as something of a womanizer and a maverick whose teaching style was regarded as dry and boring by his students, he was rather more infamous for his writings; his books were considered highly provocative at the time they were written, and today, Veblen’s legacy lives on in the terms that he coined, such as  conspicuous consumption , which is the notion that the wealthy consume luxury goods solely for the purpose of demonstrating their status. Conspicuous consumption is very much alive and well, by the way. Just ask anyone who’s ever bought an iPhone 13 when t

De-Globalization: New Supply Chains Are Inefficient and Will Drive Up Inflation De-globalization is underway. A key ramification is higher inflation. MISH APR 4, 2022 EU Existing Gas Supply The EU gets about 40% of its total natural gas supply from Russia. That gas gets to EU countries over existing pipelines.  Russia and the EU just finished an an additional pipeline, Nord Stream II, to supply even more gas to Europe. Life Before Big Oil Medicine Monica Hughes PhD I stumbled onto the following today: Even before the covid vaccines, iatrogenic injury and deaths were breathtaking. Over 200,000 deaths per year in the US alone. Are you sure a peddler in a horse-drawn cart selling snake oil on the side of the road is more dangerous than that? Serious question. This is an insane time to be alive. Everything feels like it’s collapsing. “Medicine” destroys health. “Education” destroys learning. “Agriculture” destroys food. And our money isn’t real. It feels like much of the globe, but mostly the western world, is close to civilizational collapse. Is there a better world on the other side of all of this and how long does it take for us to get there? It’s something I think about a lot these days. Recently, I went through most of Toby Rogers’ posts late one night and found  this gem : Memories of health The oldest members of the 1986 generation are 35 now. So about 90% of the population 35 and younger have bee
