"Covid" was Never about "Public Health": It was about Politics

We are Now at the Beginning of The End

From the very start, “Covid” was a political tool. It was instrumentalized, and to be more specific, weaponized. “Covid” was never really about “Public Health,” “Medicine,” or even about a “virus”. That is why so many of the “measures” appeared arbitrary, irrational, menacing, and malicious—like “bad medicine”. That is also why so many pre-pandemic preparedness plans were simply tossed aside. This was a tremendous opportunity for political leveraging. Whether it was China proving that it had the best method of social control, thus brandishing its skills and technologies as an emergent world leader; Italy's Roberto Speranza who saw lockdowns as a “new dawn” for the Left; Trump's desire to avoid accusations that he did too little, in an election year; or Trudeau's plan to transform Canadians into pliant and dependent objects—everywhere, Covid was political.

Then it all started to fall apart. The weapons of war—the non-vaccines—failed to do what was promised, and started to do what most wanted to avoid: sickness, enhanced vulnerability, injury, and even death. Resistance to lockdowns, curfews, masks, and mandates grew louder, stronger, and better organized. Too many doctors and scientists spoke out. Censorship only helped to spawn independent platforms that concentrated their fire on the failing pandemicist regime. Fewer and fewer people opted for successive shots—“vaccine uptake,” an index of compliance and belief, went down the toilet. “Most people have returned to normal lives,” we were told with regret by regime media, even as the WHO kept shouting “the pandemic is still with us”.

Local jurisdictions, and even entire nations, lifted all restrictions and mandates. On the non-vaccines, Walensky said there was too much optimism; Birx said they were overplayed; Fauci admitted that “the menstrual thing” needed to be studied more; and Gates expressed sadness that Omicron had spread natural immunity. The CDC then changed its guidelines. A few days later, Anthony Fauci sprinted toward the exits. Now the CDC reiterates the claim used in a hoax of the recent past (Bush’s myth of Iraq’s WMDs as a justification for an illegal war): it was all an “intelligence failure”. Revisionism rules—like it always does when the guilty try to produce alibis that only confirm their guilt.

“Covid” was an attempted global coup by a transnational capitalist class that has rented the power of states, and recruited armies of technocrats. The coup attempt, having done massive damage, has failed to achieve its desired political aims, one of which was the total destruction of anything local, independent, and resistant, whether it was nationalism, populism, individualism, and so on. In the wake of “Covid,” we now live in the most de-globalized world we have seen since the 1970s.

The medical charade is effectively over. Monkeypox did not fire up the engines of biomedical command and control. Polio wastewater samples barely made a dent. Some new virus in China dotted the international news, for a day. Weaponized medicine has had its day.

That is where matters have taken a dangerous new turn.

Now the war on the people is coming out explicitly as such. Witness Biden's nakedly aggressive, neo-Nazi demagoguery on September 1st. In that speech, Biden alluded to the fact that we are coming out of Covid. Indeed, the ruling elites are coming out of their now useless Covid shell, and discarding it in the sand. Now that they are “out of Covid,” all that remains is a brass-knuckled, openly political aggression that targets anyone who did not vote for the regime as “extremists” and potential “domestic terrorists”. With “Covid,” the rulers claimed to be “saving lives”. Without Covid, they now claim to be saving “the soul of the nation”.

This new turn was recently described by Mattias Desmet as “the beginning of the end”.

One can date the origins of this war on the people to many different points in the past. One could follow Max Weber, and date it to the rise of mass society and the famous “problem of order” that consumed the social sciences since their inception in the late 1800s. Others might follow Karl Marx, and date it to the rise of industrial capitalism in European cities. Anthropologists might go back further, and pin the war on the rise of the modern state and the development of complex societies. Others will focus on more recent turns—9/11, the 2008-2009 financial collapse, and/or the 2016 election. The war on the people has been particularly intense since 2016.

It has now reached its final stage.

In terms of intent, those leading this war are capable of anything. In terms of the practical limits on their power, they are capable of less and less with each passing day. Hopefully this war will be over, and the aggressors will be defeated within the next couple of years, or before they have had the chance to diminish and end millions of more lives.

I will, however, agree with the ruling political class on one issue, but I will not agree in terms they would like: after this is done, there will not be a return to the “old normal,” where that “old normal” was one that permitted their rise to power and their diabolical abuses. To those of us resisting this regime, all I can say is what others say: keep firing, and hold the line.
