What Are Our Chances, Doc?

What Are Our Chances, Doc? Crisis statistics for the End Times HARRISON KOEHLI I know the feeling, calculating cat. I loathed statistics in university. But I still love statistics—as long as they’re interesting. So the final chapter of Peter Turchin’s  End Times  was an extra treat. All the fun without any of the bore—if you can call epidemics, civil wars, and state collapse fun, that is. Over the years, the number of crisis periods studied by Turchin and his team has grown impressively. From Jack Goldstone’s original study of the General Crisis of the Seventeenth Century and the Age of Revolutions, then Turchin and Sergey Nefedov’s study of eight cycles in the histories of England, France, Russia, and Rome,  CrisisDB  has expanded that number up to around 200 case studies, soon to be 300. Turchin has even put out  a call for any academics interested in joining the fun . As he writes in his latest  preprint : This chapter offers a road-map for researchers to take up this call and ext

Mosquitoes, Vaccines and Bill Gates

Mosquitoes, Vaccines and Bill Gates TOM RENZ Let me begin this article with an AP Fact Check. According to the AP ( A Bill Gates-tied mosquito project is not responsible for recent US malaria cases | AP News ) the cases of malaria that have recently popped up in the United States were NOT related to Bill Gates, his funding of "mosquito research" related disease prevention ( Gates-Funded World Mosquito Program Engages in Gain-of-Function Research - The American Spectator | USA News and Politics ), or Oxitec's (another Gates supported company) release of genetically modified mosquitoes for the past several years in Florida where the outbreaks occurred (see the previous two articles). The AP has noted that the Gates foundation does fund malaria work and GMO mosquitoes but states it's funding for Oxitec's genetically altered mosquitoes that are being released in Florida (where those mosquitoes are released) does not include any modifications related to malaria and s

US Biolabs in Georgia - An Investigative Documentary

Image
US Biolabs in Georgia - An Investigative Documentary US funds hundreds of similar biolabs in many countries including Ukraine, Middle East and other locations. SASHA LATYPOVA I am often asked about the biolabs in Ukraine. This is a very good investigative documentary about such activity in the country of Georgia. I am certain the same playbook and the same types of activities are/were happening in Ukraine. There are approximately 1000 biolabs in the world, including 300 inside the United States. US funds most of them. The Pentagon especially prefers to outsource most dangerous and prohibited/illegal work to other countries. The countries on the border with Russia are perfect for many reasons. US agents use diplomatic immunity to shuttle all sorts of dangerous cargo without any checks or inspections. Note that this particular biolab, Luger Lab, likely works on both biological and chemical weapons. At some point the local residents mention the smell of decaying grass as one of the nigh

And to continue with the FUN...  While no one cares about these BILLIONS being used to enrich a few selected terrorists and scoundrels... Supreme Court Strikes Down Student Loan Relief -- Here's Who's Most Affected In a largely anticipated decision, the Supreme Court on Friday ruled in two separate cases that the Biden administration exceeded its authority with its $400 billion student loan forgiveness plan. The court ruled 6-3 along ideological lines. The first case,  Department of Education v. Brown , was brought by two student loan borrowers who didn't qualify for relief  sued to vacate the program  on the basis that Biden's invocation of the post-9/11 HEROES Act constitutes executive overreach. The Court ruled unanimously that the borrowers  did not  have standing to sue -  but that the Biden administration also doesn't have the authority to forgive the debt . "The HEROES Act allows the Secretary to 'waive or modify' existing statutory or regulato
